This is week 2 of the Slowtwitch weight loss challenge. If you are just starting this week, post your stats here - initial weight, target by first day of spring, and (some) want height, that too if you are so inclined.
I did not do so well this week - lost only a 1/2 pound. I’m blaming the Baltimore Ravens and my sister-in-law’s crab and cheese dip (and a lack of willpower)
My scale reads to 1/10 of a pound, so although I am somewhat dubious about it, I may as well include the data. The numbers below show how much my hydration levels influence the body fat % on my Tanita scale. If I am heavier from drinking a lot of water (especially along with salty foods so the water sticks around) my body fat drops way down. This was a good week, although I think most of the credit goes to the 15 mile run I did Sunday, I don’t think I am completely rehydrated from that.
Starting weight: 170
Last week: 169
This week: 166
Loss this week: 3
Goal: 159
Damn. I’m surprised at the past week. Had a few beers and overdid it on those days. I start a new job today, which will a ton of fun, but there will be plenty of extra beer around. I have the will power of a mouse, so we’ll see. : -(
I have the same brand of scale. Trick: weigh yourself first thing in the morning, take your BF % right before you go to bed. I’ve given up on mine. It works well for my wife, mom, and friend, but not at all for me. Had my PT do a caliper test two weeks ago, came back 16% while the scale showed 26%. She thinks it is my muscle mass that messes it up.
Last Week: 219
Current: 219 (salty food last night…ugh)
Goal: 180
Not a great week for weight loss, but I put in some solid time on the Computrainer for the first time in many years. Anyone got a good course for an hour-long interval workout?
