Weight fluctuation: what's my actual weight?

I had the same frustration recently and I’m trying to lose just a little more weight than you by the New Year. I think there are many variables that cause the fluctuation, so weighing yourself once a day (or more) screws with your mind. Try for only once a week, preferably in the morning, post-void.

Also, your 12lbs is 42000 calories. You’ll need to be in a steady deficit of about 900 calories per day to hit your goal. This means you should write down/track everything you eat every day. It might seem like a drag but it is gratifying when you do your weekly weigh-in.

Good luck.

i remember reading one of michael or amanda lovato’s blogs about what michael ate, did and weighed through one 24 hour period. basically, he did his regular swim/bike/run workouts and weighed himself a number of times throughout the day. he was as low as 164, and as high as 172 in one 24 hour period. so, what does he weigh? who knows. i don’t think he really cares.

if it were me, i’d be saying i weighed 164 though!

I think I read the same blog. It was amazing the amount of food that guy inhales!!

I’ve done some long rides recently where my daily deficit is -2500, but the next morning after I take the kids to the pool, I’m 4lbs heavier…

Perhaps a nutritionist type can clarify: 1 gram of carbs attracts 4 grams of water…is this correct?

Wow, I met Michael Lovato at Muskoka 70.3 and he didn’t seem to be anywhere near 170…I would have guessed 155 at most. Must be some heavy bones on that lad.
