Party time! 15 days in a row without using the unhealthy coping skill!
Goal last week was not to use the unhealthy coping skill. SEE ABOVE, welcome to the party! This thread really helps me… thanks to everyone who chimes in on it.
Other goals were to journal daily (done) and practice my visualization coping skill daily (I did this either all days or 6 of them; I can’t recall if I did it on Tues).
Goals this week
be at 22 days next week
journal daily
visualization daily
foam roll daily
This week will be a struggle. Lots of work days, and the oldest has a fishing tournament on Saturday. I’m boat captain, so that means lots of prep this week and check-in at 4:30 am. Might find a little something to do tomorrow and Thursday.
Wrapped up last week with an easyish run that felt great but needed some extra shovelling. Last night I spent an hour on the bike. So looking forward to actually riding somewhere.
Goals are three evenings on the trainer and a run (and maybe a swim). Good news, I might go skiing this weekend, bad news, that’s interrupt the training targets, so we’ll see.
Better news, the garage now has a tiny heater in it so it’s not as cold.
Two more rides in this week. Getting up this morning for threshold over-unders in the cold wasn’t the best, but it’s done and we can head to the mountains this weekend.
Happy weekend all, hoping we’ll get dumped on.
I think I posted on the wrong thread yesterday…
I had a rough two days and used the unhealthy coping skill the past two days after 19 days without it.
4/6 days this week without using the unhealthy coping skill
5/6 foam roll
5/6 journal
5/6 visualize
Third week of hitting all my workouts and being pretty close to on track with all my nutrition.
Need to journal and read more. Maybe I should do 75 Hard? or whatever.
Added 5 minutes to my run on Friday and decided to listen to the body, made today a recovery day instead of planning to do an additional run, running a 10k next Saturday and planning for two recovery days before.
A solid week. Our weather was a bit less extreme although all days did top 100 deg F.
Back to something like my old routine with grandson commitments kicking back in.
Kayak Monday, Mountain bike Tuesday, Run Wednesday, Mountain bike Thursday but also a brute of a hike with a 3 km run to finish. Kayak Friday, Trail run Saturday, Hike/jog and Mountain bike Sunday. Ticked off most of my strength work. Skipped my indoor rowing again. Get back to that when weather cools.
Wednesday run was planned 16 x 1 min but pulled the pin at 12.
Caught up with the Trails and Ales crew on Thursday night.
Son In Law’s mother is visiting, son in law is soon to be ex son in law so some tension down that end of the property.
Currently at the river to start my week with an hour or so of kayaking.
Monday’s 11 mile run interval workout turned in to 9 miles.
I went 9 mile for Wednesday’s 7 mile run workout to catch up.
Saturday’s 17 mile run went mostly as planned less having to stop 12 miles in after taking a gel and almost throwing up (I need more training with taking in calories).
I had three bike days planned, but missed all of them. It was large part because I was on the road half the week and the fitness room didn’t have an exercise bike. I added a 6 mile run in place of one bike ride, but missed two bike rides both on days I was driving 6+ hours for my trip.
This was my third week in a row on the road and my second week in a row missing workouts. I am home next week which will help a lot with staying on target with the training plan. 41.7 miles running was my biggest run week since May of 2023.
