Week End Plans?

In the spirit of employees everywhere, I’m trying to waste what’s left of my Friday afternoon, so I thought I’d ask a pointless question.

What are your weekend plans? Long run, epic ride, maybe a weekend of drunken debauchery?

I am bored enough to read any post. To get a response you’ll have to be creative.

I’m racing a 10/40/5k du on sunday on very little training… thank god is dratf-legal, I get to play cyclist, LOL

Sandy Hook Time Trial in New Jersey Saturday morning. All of seven flat miles, always with a raging wind, and usually driving rain. Might catch a break tomorrow, though.

Only 7 miles, I dare you to take off ALL the spacers! Send pictures afterwards!

Just pretend you’re here in Houston. It’s about 85 F and partly cloudy. I’ll put my daughter in the jogger tomorrow and run 8 mi or until she tries to climb out, which ever comes first.

Hammer Du in TN - 5k/17m/5k…It was mid 70’s last weekend, now the race time temp will be around 45. Boo.

Driving my girlfriend to the airpport - she’s going home for two weeks to visit family and friends - then I get to embark on my own mini camp: running, swimming, playing squash and lifting without having to think about getting home for a reasonable time. My diet and clothing standards will go to total crap, but I’ll be too tired to care…

I’ve been trying to orchestrate a similar situation. If I could just get my wife and daughter out of the house for about 3 days, I’d be a happy man. I love them, but could use a little “daddy time”.

Sat: 25mi bike ride. May go longer since I’m exploring a new route or two.

Sun: 6-8 mi run w/moderate hills.

Abitaman Sprint Tri, Navarre Beach, FL. 7:00 a.m. on the first day of daylight savings time!

Very cool. We usually go to Destin for vacation, so I’m pretty familiar with the area. I’m very jealous.

Actually now you mention it I think three days would be about right. After that the lustre will wear off and I’ll start missing her. (Not that I won’t miss you from the moment we say good bye haha just in case you’re reading this by some cruel twist, darling of mine etc). How old is your kid? Was becoming a father easy? I mean post birth rather than the birds and bees bit, just to clarify

Why can’t we just leave if we’re doing nothing at work? all this evasion is starting to become hard work…

Weekend already started kinda’. 4,200 yards in the pool this morning, 12 mile run at lunch.

Heading from here (Cary, NC) to Virginia Beach in about an hour. Riding 60-80 miles tomorrow at the beach!!! VA Beach Du for kicks on Sunday. Just a tempo day. Not like there will be much left of me by then anyway.

This trip is really a disguise for Kim and I to go to VA Beach and visit friends from our Marine Corps days.

Man, could that clock go any slower?

Sat - 5k charity race and work on my tax return.

Sun - Early church, stress relieving 15-20 mi easy ride, finish my tax return, cry.

Swimming, biking, running, eating, sleeping, and dating. (Not necessarily in that order.)

-The coolness manifesto, it’s close, really.

I was going to do that, as a couple of people from my team are doing it. But then I realized it would be a 100min drive for 17 minutes of riding. So I’m probably going to do another time trial in Lancaster as my GF is going over that way anyway.

Then the Pinecone Circuit race in NJ on Sunday.

I’m going to Santa Barbara from SF. Bringing the bike. Anybody know any good routes around there 40-60 miles?

Orienteering meet at the Bong Recreation Area. usually about 5-7k distance. long ride (mtb) with teammate.

Yeah… I said Bong Rec Area. I’ve wanted to steal that sign for years now.

After a tough winter race season consisting of:

two 50K XC ski races

one 100K XC ski race

one winter tri (8K speedskate-5K XC ski-5K run)

one winter du (8K run-36K speedskate-8K run)

during which I did around 14 hours per week of training (tough to do without biking)…I am officially in DOUGHBOYLAND for two weeks. No structured training and less than 6 hours per week total. I might run a bit on the weekend and hang out with my wife and son, but aside from that, i might do something earthshattering like file my tax return and prepare my court case for a speeding ticket.

Charity 10k tomorrow…

Then off to the Game Farm with three kids…

Sunday…church…chores…the usual…
