Week after Race? what do you do?

What I do…

Drink Beer, take care of my Wife, Waterski… (not always in that order)

Then I start my training week all over. I get to do the Half-Max in St. Louis this Sunday…and Like Tom, my trip is free… However, I have to cover 66.2 miles under my own power. I would rather take a few laps up to the bar in the middle of the pool.

FYI, Elite Endeavors is hosting the torn shirt xterra tri on 6/27 and Howell is hosting an Aquathlon on 7/4, is anyone doing those? I think I will do the torn shirt (any suggestions on what to expect), and could be convinced on the Aquathlon. I did an Aquathlon in NZ where the water temp was 52F…Perhaps this will be a little warmer.

Ok, I will quit rambling!

Big EE responded with the following for IM recovery. I would imagine it carries over to sprints as well:

"I like to curl up in a little ball and wimper.

It’s the only thing I’ve tried so far, but I stick with what works."

This reminds me of a Monty Python line. When I get this feeling, I lie down until it goes away!

After an Olympic on Sunday, I’m off to try and set a PR at a TT on Wednesday. But, I won’t do anything Monday, and just warm up on Tuesday. Won’t be fully recovered, but, I feel like I can do it. Only time will tell. If you’re really tired, just give it a rest…you get stronger with good rest after a hard effort.

I spent the week following the Oliver Half (my first ever) chasing a couple of kids around Disney Land. Not exactly optimal recovery, but it was fun. This ties in nicely to my respnse to the “Are you a Serious Triathlete?” poll.

Now I get to go back to school and rest
