My cousin is getting married soon and he and his lady participate in adventure race together. Was thinking it would be fint o get them something along those lines as a wedding gift. Problem is I dont know what kind of gear they already have.
Yes, that would be the safest, though maybe to a more “hard-core” store if there is one in their area. If they are really into adventure racing they are probably pretty well geared up already and also picky about what other gear they would want…
How about a check for $100 or $200 if you bring a date to the reception.
Two presumptions for people getting married: either they are young and they are going to buy a house soon, and they will need some help on the down payment, or they are older (by older i mean between 35 and 45) and they just spent 5 or 10 or 20 grand throwing themselves a wedding and their parents did not pay and they could use some help paying for it.
I am from NY/NJ area and giving cash for wedding gifts is common, and not considered tacky. I do not understand why people insist on giving any gifts other than cash, or stuff that the couple put on their registry. I do not understand why cash is considered tacky elsewhere.
