OK guys, I need you feedback on a new triathlon website. The site was created out of frustration from not being able to search for a multisport race in a given time frame and location without spending an unreasonable amount of time browsing the internet. I know what kind of positive reinforcement you provide others who ask for your opinions on websites, but take it easy on us. This site is a group effort of two Slowtwitch members who met on this forum, exchanged ideas, and proceeded to build the site over the next several months.
The site is an ongoing project and is not finished by any means, but the most of the functionality is there so feel free to use the site at any time from this point forward. If any of you have suggestions on how to improve the site, you are more than welcome to give us feedback. It is best to use the Contact page on the site for this purpose. Please browse the site, create an account, use the search engine, and start ranking races. Please understand that there are several small details that have not been finished of as yet , but we still want your feedback. The site features some of your ST favorites writing about their triathlon race experiences. Thanks in advance.
It looks like an interesting site…but www.trifind.com is already the most comprehensive source specifically for tris… Its also extremely fast, directed and is solely about the calendar. Your site is comprehensive in other ways but as a pure search engine I am not sure how it raises the bar? Or fills an unmet need.
several major races are missing from the pacific northwest region. check www.racecenter.com for a better list.
after clicking one of the race regions, it’s not obvious that there is a message window below the six boxes. the cursor also stays a text edit style instead of changing to a pointer. with the window maximized, the screen is cut off just below the six boxes so you can’t see anything happen when you click the box. make the top banner narrower or squeeze stuff down.
I submitted this via your contact and got a list of errors when I hit submit. the error was about an incorrect or invalid email probably because I had spelled out “AT” and “DOT”. when I went back to the submit page, all my typing was gone.
when you click on a state from the list in the region then click back to look at different state, you get a page expired message.
I would be better to list races from the whole region together instead of having to go back to the list of states each time.
