It’s hard to tell from your post, are you upset with the weather forecast? Please tell us how you feel, don’t hold anything back…![]()
It’s just not Musselman if you can’t fry an egg on the sidewalk
.
83?? wow…think we had something that low in march… ![]()
let’s go for yet another run at 105F…
desert dude must be cooking
sorry, but ya ain’t frying any eggs on the sidewalk at 83:) I may need to put my neoprene booties on at 83:)
.
You won’t notice it…until mile 7 of the run, and that long, dusty hill that bakes in the midday sun, with no shade whatsoever.
Not sure what the “official” namer for the hill is, but I just call it “the Widowmaker”.
You’re really complaing about 83?
Sure it would be nice to have had mid 70’s but look at it this way… the rest of the country may be in the 100’s come this weekend.
Have fun out there!
Yeah, you’re right. It’s around 90 here in central fl. every day, with a lovely 90% humidity. it’s not like i’m not used to it, but i don’t do well in the heat.
Let’s all take a deep breath. The race is still nine days out. The forecast is gonna change 2 dozen times. I’m counting on it being really hot and humid with gusty winds. Anything better will be a bonus. ![]()
What are you complaining about? Do you really trust weather forecasts this far out? Who knows, it could end up being 55 with rain. But even if it is 83, there is no reason to get worked up about it. It will be what it will be and we will all just have to deal with it. As long as they don’t have to cancel or shorten the race due to weather, I’ll be happy.
And since you are from FL, you should be better acclimated to heat than us northern folk.
Victor
We like to call that little stretch “Pooles purgatory” to honor the grape farmers that own it.
Not sure what the “official” namer for the hill is, but I just call it “the Widowmaker”.
acclimated does not equal effective. at about 80 degrees, my performance drops precipitously, it’s just physiological dude.
I too am from central Florida and if we get 83 for Steelhead for a high, I’ll be ecstatic. Sure, I’d like mid 70s but 83 and relatively low humidity would be wonderful.
yeah i know. 83 won’t be all that shitty, unless the humidity is like down here. what kills me is that the weather looked to be on a downward trend, and then it kicked me in the nuts.
my god the weather in NY changes hourly…
current forecast is high 76 low 57. i take back all of the evil things I said about NY ![]()
And, now potential T-Storms. ![]()
Hey now, keep it positive. Don’t worry about what you can’t change and all that. Just prepare as best you can, eh? Plastic bags or something to cover your gear/seat/bars as they sit in transition, etc.
I’m focusing on the “30%” chance of precip aspect of the (current) forecast. That means 70% chance of no rain right?
No knee warmes, no arm warmers, no gloves… could be a chilly ride por moi.
WWTHTFUD? Just F’in go harder to stay warm of course.
Don’t any of you remember last year? Fricken 95 degrees. This year is going to feel like cheating with the forecast we have now.
