My wife’s Polar S210 is on the decline. Looking at replacing with the RS200 with the wearlink coded strap. She likes the old coded t31 strap without the replaceable battery. She has the Garmin 305 but the battery cover on the strap with the screw head tends to rub her.
Any feedback from others about the battery cover rubbing. I don’t have a problem so maybe its a women thing.
Is there a coded polar monitor similar to the old S210 that uses the smooth T31 strap. Needs to be coded and smooth.
I had a S150 a while back and it came the t31 strap. I couldn’t stand it because of the rubbing also but mine was not from the battery cover but from the plastic parts of th strap. So I bought a wearlink one which is much better. Then my S150 broke and I bought a RS100 about half a year ago. It came with the t31 coded strap but since I had the wearlink, I never used it.
(I’m not at my house but when I get back tonight, I can check if it’s like how you described with the no battery cover. If so, I can sell it to you for a good deal or we can work something out and trade straps. PM me if interested).
FWIW: My wife took possession of my S210. She replaced the T31 strap with the wearlink strap. She said, no rub problem for her. I still use the T31 for races…if she lets me.
I believe the T31 should be compatible with any polar model. I use a T61 coded instead of the wearlink with my 625X because I can keep it loose and just tuck it under my sports bra. I have to make the wearlink tight to get it to stay put and I had a ton of problems with it not picking up.
I 'ved used the Polar Hr since ~ 93 went to the wearlink last year. I’ve not had any problems with any rubbing & prefer it over the others. I One thing I’ve learned I have to do & go out of my way is to get the proper size elastic strap piece. All of them are sold with the M or M-L elastic band. But there are s & xs staps. Even the wearlink is available with a xs-small strap. Much better in the long run. They are hard to even at dealers so I get a couple when I order or have service done at Polar.
As a woman I find most of those have to be really tightened down & then stretch too easily to get it to fit right.

I don’t think any of them come with the old straps anymore. You can buy the straps separately, so if the WearLink isn’t comfortable for her you could replace it. That’s added expense, though.
