Way to go mike donia!

From being hit by a car at Vineman 70.3 to 4th place in his AG in IM KY!!! That should be good for KONA!!!

You can expect that kind of performance from a tough Canadian

Way to go Mike!

Congrats, Dr. Donia! I’m so happy for you!

Thanks Cathy!

I am VERY excited with this result after the accident at Vineman. I was not able to swim, bike or run for weeks after the accident, and did not think I was even going to do Kentucky. I would not even have made the trip if Kylie wasn’t racing, but since I was going to be here to watch, I thought I might as well start and see what happened.
Now I have to decide whether to take the Kona slot or not. After a one week taper for Vineman and five weeks off since then, I’m not sure what base I have left to build on for Kona once I recover from yesterday’s race.

Thanks Allan!

Thanks Scott! I didn’t even know you posted on this board - small world

Nice race, Mike!! Very impressive especially after Vineman…maybe the “no pressure/no stress” approach is the way to go. And, take the Kona slot…you never know what life will bring each year.
Congrats!!

Seems like a 5 week taper worked well for IMKY. Why not do the same thing for Kona?!!

Congrats Mike!! Awesome race!

Mike and I are members of the same Tri club (Inland Inferno). He is a rare example of a truly gifted athlete and a very humble genuine person. He stayed with us for Kona '05 and I was amazed at how clam he stayed right up to race morning. Great to see him do well and qualify again.

Many congrats and to Kyliee as well for her 12:30 finish.
