I am 5’8" 158lbs what kind of watts do i need for a six hour bike. just curious. I know lots of variables but a range would def help. thanks
112 in 6 hours is about 18.75mph… no more than 175 watts at absolute most, my guess somewhere around 150-160w based on your weight
Go out and ride 18.75 mph and look down at your PM.
except that if you’re out there for 6 hours, the wind starts to kick up and all of the sudden you’re pushing 250 watts downhill and going 17mph… ![]()
How can you not know this if you been training with power?
You are asking for an absolute number when you need a relative number (% of ftp).
This is dependent on your weight, aero-ness of position and other factors.

X1…This course rewards a good swim/fast T1 more than most. Between the extra first loop traffic you face and the winds at the end of the day, the difference between getting on the road by 8:10 vs. 8:30 is more than 20 minutes.
<150watts
