Water temperature rule

Hi,

Is NAS (Ironman) use the 78 degre for Age group and 72 degre for pro?
Look at #5
** SWIM COURSE RULES (IM Florida athlete guide)** COURSE LENGTH 2.4 MILES/3.8 KILOMETERS CUT OFF TIME 9:20AM** 1. Each swimmer must wear a swim cap provided by North America Sports. 2. No fins, aqua socks, gloves, paddles, or flotation devices of any kind are allowed. 3. Swim goggles or face masks may be worn. 4. No individual paddlers or escorts are allowed. The course will be adequately patrolled by boats, canoes, and paddleboards. 5. Wetsuits are allowed for all athletes if the water is 78 degrees Fahrenheit or colder 6. **Any assistance required during the swim will
result in disqualification if forward progress was made.

And what this mean?
The wetsuit policy for elite athletes shall be determined by the USAT
Athletes Advisory Council.

Thanks

I THINK the WTC rule is 78 for all and USAT is 78 for AG and 72 for Pro. I heard back in January that IM swims would change to USAT rules, but apparantly it has not.
