Water proof watch that will vibrate set intervals?

Does anyone know of a water proof watch that will vibrate at set intervals? I have a tough time pacing myself on the swim. This would be really helpful for me.

Not 100% certain, but I think the Polar 725x will perform this function.

most swimmers use an ironman watch supplemented with the clock.

I have a watch that has Ironman on it. I think it is a Timex or Casio. But I did not think it will vibrate at set intervals.

In the pool I use a finger ring watch. I really like it. But I have to stop or slow down to read it. I would prefer something that would just vibrate so I don’t have to look at anything and would keep me on an even pace.

When I use my ring watch and look at the lap times when I am done they are all over the place. Not even just faster earlier. I did 100 laps on Saturday and my lap times varied by 20%. This is in a 25yd pool.

Finis tempo trainer. you clip it to your goggle strap and set it for the interval you want it to beep at. great for the pool but in a race might get knocked off your goggles and get lost to the depths. But they’re $30 so it would not be the end of the world.

Looked over the documentation on the Polar 725 and did not see anything on vibrating intervals. But might have missed it.

Try the Finis Tempo Trainer, just throw it in your swim cap. Much cheaper than a new watch!!

Yes the Finis Tempo Trainer looks like the ticket. I assume it beeps loud enough to hear during a race?

Yeah I would think that it would just by virtue of being placed right next to your ear, you couldn’t help but be able to hear it.

Does it shutoff after an hour? I have a friend who swam with a tempo trainer for IM, but
knew it shutoff in an hour and he’d be without it. And no, swimming faster is not an option.

Not sure if it shuts off after an hour…never had it on that long???

Purchased one on Amazon. $28 and free 2 day shipping with my wifes prime. Will give it a try. I think it will do a good job of pushing me harder and me staying on pace when my mind wanders.

The Garmin 310xt is supposed to have vibrating alerts.

I am real excited about the Garmin 310xt. But I don’t believe it will be available until 5/1. Anyone hear different?

As silly as this sounds, I strap my regular Ironman watch through my goggle straps and against my head. Then you can hear the beeps. Looks dumb, but since I had the watch already, it’s free.
