An old favorite is getting a new face lift…
All new LG Rocket Air looks really cool, has anyone tested it yet?

Nope… That is LG Rocket, this one is different and called Rocket Air. I have seen it in a picture from the top it has huge 3 vents on top.

Sorry nope, but it should be up o their web page pretty soon since the 2008 Rocket is there. i believe it will either be released at interbike or kona. Looks like most non bike products are being launched at kona this year. also it is ligher at 14.8 ounces. So the name “Air” could come either from the weight or the vents…
If you can find a picture of Bouyges telecom team from the tour it is the non branded helmet they were using.

Thanks for the heads up

wow, pretty steep price on that one.

no problem. Yup, thats it. From profile it is the same as Rocket but instead of a shell construction is more like giro advantage. A little back of the top portion has huge, I mean HUGE 3 vents.

If you’re looking to see pics, it’s one of the items featured in the sneak peak to Interbike in this months (October) Triathlete mag…page 141. As mentioned, the profile looks just like the Rocket, just with three big tear drop vents off the top/back of the helmet. They say there are two vents in front but the two pictures don’t really show them.

Nice. This is perfect timing as I’ll be getting my first aero helmet next season.

Finally, LG paid some attention to what aero helmet users have to say. I recall Tai mentioning that aerohelmet manufacturer’s need to include a hole up top, so that the user would be able to squirt water into the helmet to cool off.

We had a sample for four days. Same as the previous helmet with the addition of several vents at the front. At the time we were given the helmet we were told we could discuss it, but asked not to photograph it until after Interbike. The graphics have changed but the colorway remains similar.

…which weighs about 1.5 pounds. Perfect for that summertime IM.

My Rocket has three vents on top, so they are already making it.

You’re talking abt the current model which has 7 vents total (4 front, 3 up top), correct…? I thought that this model had just slits for vents. I doubt that the slits are very big for u to accurately aim your bottle nipple into the openings and to get enough water through the slits.

Yep, that’s the one. I think I could get some pretty good water through there. May not be a large hole to shoot through, but your talking about water not a solid.

The price is steep on the rudy project because it’s carbon. it’s been around for a few years though, it was used last year in Le Tour, and Michellie Jones wore it in Kona.

Yup there are two small eye shaped holes/vents up infront and three huge holes on top.
