Hi Folks-
Admittedly, I’m a road cyclist first and a trail runner second. Yesterday, I was watching NBC’s coverage of Kona, and the compulsion came back to do the Philly Tri. I was training to do it 3 yrs ago but got sidelined by mono. I’m in great shape this year and hope to carry it through the winter, at which point I think I’ll be in good shape to give it a go. Now, I am no swimmer. I think I will need some lessons in technique at the Y so I can at least survive that leg. At 6’1" skinny, I don’t float, and my upper body is more honed for rock climbing than for swimming. I hope to get some good knowledge from this community and to give Philly a shot!
you might want to hit up a philly coach like shanks (www.enduranceconcepts.com). i did, and it helped alot. I hit the podium at philly tri this year in my first ever olympic.
