For those of you that wear a watch when you race, do you put it under the wetsuit sleeve, or over the wetsuit sleeve? Whenever I put it under, I seem to get water up the sleeve that I can actually feel gathering. I tried over at the last race, but I had the watch so loose that it bugged the crap out of me
I wear my watch low enough on my wrist that it is ‘touching skin’, and the cuff of the suit sleeve is above the watch. I have some pics at home from a recent race I can post if it would help…
I put the watch on slightly higher up my wrist. Put on the wetsuit, and then roll the sleeve back for starting the watch. Then before I hit the water I roll the sleeve back down to cover it up.
i put my watch on, put the wetsuit on, with the sleeve covering (just) the watch. then i lift up the edge of the sleeve on the top so it just clears the start button. it generally goes down/over the face on its own during the swim. the lap button is easy enough to hit, upon swim exit, whether it’s covered or not.

Don’t put your watch on over your wetsuit because if you forget to take the watch off before the wetsuit you will end up with your wetsuit stuck inside out over your hand held around your wrist by the watch. Makes a slow transition trying to figure out how to get the wetsuit off.
i pull mine over my watch…then I just push on the wetsuit where the start stop button is on the face of the watch when the horn goes off. If you’re getting water up your sleeves, just start doing some forearm exercises, so the sleeves are tighter
Buy yourself a Breitling Super Ocean diving watch. It is only $1,650.00 on Ashford.com.
The watch has diving extensions, which allow you wear it over the wetsuit. As a poseur this will give you the final touch. Now, how do I know you are such a poseur? If you are not selling bikes, bike bits, coaching, hats, or fitting services why are you posting on this site?
