Wanted : Vision Carbon Trimax bars

Looking for a set of Vision Trimax Carbon bars. Only want the version with r-bends

let me tell you that you probably don’t want the carbon ones. they are just kind of retardedly made. I’ve had both, I wouldn’t pay even $10 more for the carbon ones over the aluminum ones, and I’m kind of a weight weenie.

also, wrong forum

Why didn’t you like them? Which bars would you suggest then?

I would get the same bars, but in aluminum.

  1. the carbon version is still half aluminum, and heavy, hardly any lighter.
  2. the extensions are disjointed, possibly less aero, looks like a grade school kid designed them
  3. you can’t cut down the brake upturns and make them more aero like you can with the aluminum ones (because of the way the cable routing works)

What would you use to chop down the brake upturns?
Thanks for the advice, I will let you know how it turns out.

I have an angle grinder, I used that, you could also use a hacksaw.

I have a pair that I will be willing to sell when my new bike arrives(in the next month or so). I have cut down the drops to the minimum, and have the vision tech brakes also which I will include.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Dave Ramsay

Oh great I just picked one of these up from Bonk Town for $260. It’s the sloped model with ski bend bars. Is it at least aero?

Thanks,
Ken

im sure the aeroness difference is too small to measure, youll see what i mean about the extensions. its no big deal is just that the aluminum ones are chepaer.

you can at least enjoy the 20 gram weight difference!

Is it a tank compared to it’s competition or just not much lighter? Is it significantly lighter than the aluminum separates that came on my p3c?

Ken

There is nothing much lighter in its price range I don’t think.

Easton and Hed have significantly lighter options but you pay for it.

I don’t think it is any lighter than the stuff that comes on your P3C, especially if yo uuse a light stem. check FSA’s website.

Thanks for the info.
