Wanted: Hooded base layer for winter running

I’d like a tight-fitting top (a la Under Armour) with a hood to wear as a base layer for running on cold days. The hood would really keep the cold out. It would be good if it were thin so I could easily layer over it. Any idea if such a thing exists?

I think brooks and nike each make one for women. If you get a big size and don’t mind the color though…

Check out Sugoi’s website. I got one from about 5 years ago called the JO JO. Now called the speedster. Excellent design and comfort. Even has roll over mittens to start out with.

You’re in Canada, right? I’m generally not a fan of MEC clothing but I did pick this up last winter:

I use it for biking to work in the winter and snowboarding and have been quite happy with it. It fits well under my bike helmet and under my snowboard helmet. I couldn’t justify the expensive stuff when I knew it would probably get wrecked in a couple of seasons.

Thanks, the speedster looks pretty good. I wonder why they only make it for chicks. I guess it’s not manly to have a cold neck?

Maybe I should just try to get one of those cool one-piece things that olympic speedskaters wear. That’d be pretty cool!

I picked one up after seeing how nice the one I grabbed for Rappstar was. It’s a little heavy for running in Vancouver, but does well on the bike and for standing around in the cold.

I’ve been looking into this too. Sugoi makes the Speedster. Adidas makes one too (Response Hoody maybe?). Smartwool also makes one but it will be (duh) wool.

If there are any others I would be interested to hear about them. Unfortunately I can’t find any of them near me and would like to try them on first.
