Wanted: Advice on getting comfortable on new T1 saddle

I just mounted my new T1 saddle this morning and took it out for a short spin. I could not get comfortable on it. The saddle slightly rises upward where the nose is. This is where I’m experiencing the most discomfort. I would like to return it, it’s absolutely perfect but Excel Sports will not return/exchange it so I’m stuck.

Right now it’s perfectly level, should I lower the nose, move the saddle further back/forward?

Thanks, Dave in VA

Are you sitting on it correctly - i.e. are your hips rolled forward? Do you have the saddle turned a few degrees to one side (so that you’re not sitting directly on your perineum)? Is your saddle too high? Are you sure? Did you adjust your saddle height after installing the new saddle?

I would keep the saddle level for now and set it with the same fore/aft position of your old saddle (I’m assuming you already did that).

New saddle, new bike. I guess I have a lot I could change I just figured it might be easy to stat with the saddle?

Go get a fitting before you do anything. No saddle will ever feel comfortable if you’re incorrectly set up.

The saddle slightly rises upward where the nose is… / …Right now it’s perfectly level

As you might imagine, this is confusing to me, as you seem to contradict yourself. I know how the T1 saddle is designed, so here is the question:

if you take a yardstick (or a similar long, straight object) and lay its center down on top of the midline of the saddle (yardstick aligned in the fore-aft direction) when the seat is intalled on your bike with the bike standing up (and level), is the yardstick level, or not?

if the yardstick is not level, adjust the seat so that it is now perfectly level (with the big nose, the seat will appear to angle downward). Then try riding the bike and saddle again. How does it feel?

Also, is the seat pointing perfectly forward? Don’t angle the seat to the side (as another poster above suggested), because for the T1 the gel and small “channel” on this seat is meant to protect sensitive tissues, and angling the seat to the side defeats this design.

If you don’t like the seat, I’ll buy it off you–send me a PM.
