Someone in WC did me a huge (business) favor and I would like to do something nice for them. I could set them up for lunch, have some cookies and sweets sent, a basket of breakfast goodies, stuff like that. Looking for suggestions. Thanks.
We just opened a new Cheesecake Factory last week. For something a bit more upscale you could do Ruths Chris or Scott’s Seafood. Or tickets to a play or the California Symphony at Dean Lesher Center www.lesherartscenter.org
Cool, Scott’s is still there? When I lived there in the mid-80’s the cool place was Max’s Opera Cafe. ![]()
Scott’s is a great idea. There is a gift basket place downstairs from my office that does good stuff.

Where is your person located. I could give you something within walking distance.

CB Richard Ellis @2175 N California aka the Mt. Diablo Bldg.
Nothing too exciting over there (6 blocks from where I sit). I would say Scott’s would be my pick. It’s just right down California. I have eaten there 100+ times in the last 20 years and it is always good.

SCOTT’S x 2. Had the Chioppino last week and it was quite tasty.

Is it your turn to buy?
Dave
It’s been my turn for awhile.
What would lunch set you back there?

Scotts is nice, not as nice as the one in Oakland though…its nice being able to see the sea in a seafood restaurant.
Check out Vic Stewarts too, I had a great meal there last week.
If I was you I would call Gelateria Naia, its the most amazing Italian ice cream place on the planet…Italy included. I think they do party platters…have them send over 50 flavors of gelato on Friday. The place has a cult following around here, I bet everyone in the office will love it.

that would be true if anything in that sea you were looking at was actually edible.
Do you eat sushi?
not from around here I don’t ![]()

You know the roe you see on most sushi rolls? thats usually Herring roe, and where is one of the biggest fisheries in the world for that stuff? you guessed it, right outside Scotts in Oakland. The Herring like to spawn near piers and pilings and thats where they’re caught…so if you eat sushi, chances are some of it is coming out of the bay.

I can’t walk within 2 blocks of that place without being pulled into the front door by a powerful and irresistible force. Mmmmmm…
