Agreed absurd. Wife has a like $50 Amazon adjustable height standing desk with 4 wheels. Zero need or want to have bottles on a desk versus a bottle cage on the bike. Instincts are I would reach there.
That post is like 11 months old. The desk is $230 today. What is the link to your wife’s $50 desk???
I have had my Wahoo desk for ages. The quality is awesome. The comparable Amazon China clone desk is $145, but I’m not sure it shares the same level of quality and customer support.

That’s a 2x8 supporting the front wheel, a croquet set holding up the wires, a pool table holding the surge protector (and an off-screen fan), and an old kitchen cabinet turned around.

Thomas gerlach famously used a hospital bed table. Theses are still $50-$60 on Amazon.
I have the $144 China knockoff… dunno if it’s the same “quality” or not… but, it has certainly been sufficient. Granted it just sits there and doesn’t fall down. It doesn’t exactly see a ton of wear and tear. I’ve had it for several years.
