Wahoo Kickr2 (2016/early 2017) - thoughts

Hi all,

I recently bought a lightly used Kickr2 - I saw it was bought in April 2017 and thought it was a 2017 model.

Does anyone have one, and what are your thoughts vs a 2018 or Kickr Core?

I had a 2016 KICKR. It was awesome. Unless you want silent or Climb compatibility, then no real value in upgrading. The big KICKR has a better frame than the Core.

I’d actually be tempted to buy an “old” version over a 2018/Core since the older ones have proven to be bulletproof, but the 2018 models have been plagued with a ton of manufacturing issues. I almost bought a 2018 Kickr, but after hearing from so many people who went through 2 or 3 warranty replacements, I didn’t want to waste the entire off-season waiting for a trainer that would work.

You’ll be extremely pleased with your purchase.

I got over 15k “zwift” miles on mine. Back in December the belt broke and Wahoo put another one on it. Other than that, it’s been awesome. It’s not the quietest thing out there, but it works great. Had it since the end of 16.

My mom and I both have this model kickr and ride 3-5 days a week between us. Couldn’t be happier

Thanks, hope to have it next week for some Sufferfest action. Not sure if I’ll Zwift on it but am looking forward to accurate power numbers from a trainer.
