Vredestein Fortezza Quattro Tricomp Clincher

Anybody use these?, any views? thats what I have on my H3’s and I am thinking if I should change to Pro Race 2 or similar top end racing tire and put these on my training wheels, or are these good enough for racing?

these tyres are more or less race tyres. they won’t hold up well as a training tyre. they are good as race tyres, the only downside being that their optimum pressure is pretty high, higher than say a pro2race. that means to get the same good performance you have a more uncomfortable ride with the vredestein (e.g. 130psi) vs a pro2race (115 psi).

I believe that has a warning somewhere not to use Vredsteins which have a loose fit with their wheels which also have a loose fit, danger of popping off. Switch to Michelins, nice tight fit.

The only tires I will use anymore is the Vredestein Fortezza. The damn things are bullet proof and last forever. I have been on them for 7 years or so. Michelins tend to have better gripping in the corners, but other than that I love Vreds! Michelins and Contis flat easier and more often in my experience, which is why I switched. I made a lady at work by some and she is thrilled with how long they are lasting.

I do not use the Tricomps anymore, preferring a sold colored tire, but anything by Vreds should be very durable.

I run them on Mavic Cosmic Carbones, new Mavic Cosmic Carbones Premiums, Shimano DA paired spoke wheels, and Ultegra / Mavic Open Pros. They work great on all of these.
