I’m familiar with that area. That’s been a vacation home boom/bust area for a while. That particular development is pretty close to a Publix our company almost bought. There’s really nothing out that way in terms of (good) restaurants and you’re at least 30 minutes away from Universal… but it would work very well for Disney. Only about a ten minute drive to park and be at the gate.
Safety? Should be fine. Just to your west is basically a whole lot of nothing.
For training, I 100% wouldn’t ride on the roads out that way.
