Voluntary recall Clif bar w/peanut butter

just got this off the Clif company web page. Apparently some of their products use peanuts from the supplier that the recent salmonella outbreak was traced too.

Clif Bar & Company Announces Voluntary Nationwide Recall of CLIF® and LUNA® Branded Bars Containing Peanut Butter Due to Possible Health Risk

I’m glad you posted this as I have a cliff bar Chocolate Chip Peanut Crunch that I was going to ear later today…guess not
.

WOW looks like i got lucky…just pulled out my crunchy peanut butter Cliff Bars and they were the batch before the recall…Thanks for the heads up though
.

What a total hassle… I’ve got a bunch at home…

Thanks, I just found out too and have a bunch in a cookie jar at home. It sucks but it won’t effect my ordering from Clif in the future, I love their clif bars! …gels not so much, but woo hoo for bars!

Just in case some folks are not aware, the Clif recall is part of a much larger peanut butter paste recall.

Hmm…I am glad I ate my last Peanut Butter Crunch yesterday.

Got lucky. The one I was going to eat today isn’t included in the list by expiration date.

Damn it I ate one 2 min. before getting on ST…Quick do I make myself vomit??? Oh well, I am trying to drop a few and this will do it.

I had a dozen CCPCs included in the recall dates. I’ve already eaten half of them. At this point, I suppose I’ll eat the remaining ones too (can I blame Dev if I get sick?).

I wonder if this will affect availability as stores pull stock from the shelves.

Kind of a crappy “recall” if you ask me

Their News Release says: “Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to destroy them but retain the “Best By/Sell By” code found on the back of the package.” That’s hardly a “recall”.

It then goes on to say: “Consumers with questions or who would like a refund may contact Clif Bar & Company at 1-800-CLIFBAR (1-800-254-3227).” Hmmm not the most forthcoming on IF you can get a refund or how…

I just found out too and have a bunch in a cookie jar at home

They were on sale last Sun at a local grocery store, $1 each, so I bought a dozen, but I’m so damn stingy with money, still feeling the urge to eat em…

Bummer…I’ve eaten ~4 in the last week from the recalled batch, and have another dozen or so left. No ill effects so far. Is it worth holding on to the remaining ones in the event the FDA is able to narrow down the potentially impacted products?

a dollar each is on sale? I usually get mine for that price or a little lower all the time.
