Hello All,
Here are some pics from my VO2/Lactate test today.
I found out that I am fat (need to lose 10 lbs to climb hills), that I am not going to the Olympics and also that Lance Armstrong has nothing to fear from my engine … ever.
However the good news is that if I train in the right zones for the distance I want to race I have enough ‘improvement room’ to do well in my age group.
A booklet of test data shows a lot of information; most of which I have not absorbed yet.
Ken took time to go over a lot of it … one interesting chart showed the load when my body switched from fat burning to glycogen burning. (do not want to go there much)
All in all, very interesting session and a seemed worthwhile and helpful to me.
I am on the bike and Ken (the coach) is reading some information.
Also one side benefit was that I found my Ergomo factory watt readings correlated well with the lab wattmeter.
Oh … the seat was too high … and Ken’s water heater is ready for the earthquake.
Cheers,
Neal
