Vison tech bars cut questions

if you cut the vison bars before the upward turn in the bars, do your shifters still fit in there ? Or is the tuve more narrow there then @ the end ??

I can’t speak for their carbon bars, but the wife has the full clipon setup and I have the Integrated Pro model in aluminum and I cut both of ours just prior to the upturn and had no problems mounting the shifters (did have to file the burs from the cut)!

thanks
.

If you are referring to the integrated aero bars with aluminum extensions (the Pro model), my experience was that the shifters will not fit if you cut the extensions just before the bend.

I cut mine for track use and checked out of curiosity with a campy 10s shifter and it would not fit.

I should say that my bars are from 2000 so they may have changed since then.

they are the alu clip ons… model 2004

All vision bars from before 2003 made by Vision Tech USA will not fit shifters if you cut more than 3/4 of an inch off the end, as these bars are butted/

The new bars manufactured by FSA (2004 on) have constant diameter tubing, and would work.

Cutting the tubing voids the warranty.

FSA is introducing their new R-bend model. This has the straight tubes on the ends. This should be available this Summer. Contact them for more info.

I just cut down a pair today. While I didn’t stuff bar end shifters in there, it’s clear that the tubing diameter is the same as at the end of the extension.

So did I, and it’s clear that the inside tubing diameter is NOT the same as at the end of extension. so the shifters do NOT fit. I solved it bij removing one of the three pieces that are around the inner big bolt. So with the bolt and 2 1/3’s it goes just in…

Interesting. I just compared the pieces I hacked off and it’s the same inner diameter as far as I can tell.
