VisionTech/PDAerobottle/SRM

Does anyone use all 3 of these together? I’m pretty sure I need to have the profile design aero-bottle and I KNOW i’m sure I need the srm head unit (hehe, head unit). How do I use both with my VisionTech r-bend aerobars?

Thanks…and if you’ve got pics, i’d love to see them. Just make sure they’re tastefully done.

Hello Eganski,

No profile bottle, but 2 out of 3 of your items.

Cheers,

Neal

Here is a pic of the srm head unit. I’m pretty confident that you could still stick an aero bottle between the handlebars, I just use the frame cages though when I race. Yes, I’m too lazy to re-assemble my bike after this past weekends trip back east to race.

Jesus man, he said tastefully done!
What the hell have you got hanging all over that beautiful piece of engineering

is that a shoe horn inside a coke bottle on your top tube?

I got it done with a small bracket for the SRM mount.

I get some splashing from the bottle on the headset but have never had a problem.

Hello Flanagan and All,

Poor man’s version of the fabled MIT water bottle on the top tube - mine contains a spare tube and tire gear - it is a modified Johnson No Tears Shampoo bottle. Vittoria Pitt stop behind it. Tried the Vittoria Pitt Stop on a buddy’s flat tire and it worked great - after we figured out you have to rotate the tire for a minute or two after injecting to get it to work.

Looks kinda junky in the pic but CdA frontal area is minimized and it is very clean aerodynamically, and if the MIT info is correct it could even improve drag numbers a bit.

I built the Never Reach mount using a second P3C seat clamp and the bottle slides on tubular rails to allow fore and aft adjustment. I am testing it to see if I like it. Drag changes, plus or minus, will probably be too small to measure outside of a wind tunnel but I am optomistic about the setup. It should be a convenient and aero way to carry and drink liquids.

Cheers,

Neal
