VisionTech Carbon Pro Clip-Ons...first impressions

First of all…it’s about f*'n time! The VT carbon clip-ons I ordered 2 months ago arrived yesterday. Didn’t have much time to play with them yesterday, other than to mount them on the wife’s new bike, but here’s what I’ve observed so far. They’re SWEET. They’re super light thanks to VT’s generous use of carbon fiber - the armrest plates are thick CF and feel very solid, and the extensions are very nice - ergonomically shaped, with a shallow-angle upturn at the end, for a very comfortable wrist position. Not to mention that the CF weave in the extensions looks great and of high quality - the finish is top-notch…no blemishes, seams or other nit-picky details overlooked. They’re not completely installed, but even just mounted, they feel great - very solid - no creaks, wiggles or other little irksome attributes. Of course, the extensions are not adjustable in length or rotation, but I don’t think that’s going to be an issue - shoot, they come in 4 different lengths, and the ends already turn in slightly, which feels perfectly natural and comfortable. The armrest plates are adjustable in width, over a range of about 2 cm (a guesstimate), with 3 different options, and come with 2 different riser blocks (12.5 mm and 25 mm). Even the riser blocks are airfoil-shaped…they didn’t miss a trick with these things! In addition, the plates are plenty large (larger than the F-19 armrests on my Carbon Strykes), and should be super comfy once the pads are installed. With a little luck, I’ll have the bike all done by the weekend, and I’ll see about getting some pics up (or at least links to 'em) once it’s all dialed in and purtied up. Just my unsolicited $0.02…take it for what it’s worth.
