VisionTech Base bar and clip-ons - Opinions/experiences

I have a set of the Visiontech base bar and clip-ons, on order. Should be to the lbs by Thursday. The base bars are 40cm and the clip-ons are large. I’ll probably be cutting about an 1" of the aerobars. Anyone using these bars?

I’ve been using the Profile base bar and Syntace Streamliners for years. I alway cut 1" off the Streamliners since they extended UP too far.

These are quite a good alternative to the Syntace. i have used them, and they are a bit cheaper than the Syntace as well. Altogether a great product. FSA did a great job marketing these products.

I put the whole stup (base bars, clipons, brake levers) se the wifes TT/Tri bike about 2-weeks ago and she loves them. This past weekend she did a tri-relay and I thought I heard someone say that she had the 2nd or 3rd fastest time for all the women for the 25K bike leg! When fitting her, I opted to remove about 3/4" from the aero extensions and about 1/2" from the base bars to make for optimal fit and the only consideration when making this alteration is the holes for the internal cable routing. In our case, if I had removed anymore material, I would have had to drill new holes to run the cables internally! The clamp/mount for the Shimano DA bar ends currently extends about 1/4" into the holes fort the internal cable entry and getting the brake cables to route internally after removing material was a little tricky with the Vision Tech brake levers due to the design!

Overall, her setup is ligher, more comfortable, and better looking than my Cinelli Angel integrated aero bars - so much so that I am seriously debating about making the switch on my TT bike. I think if want to cut material in excess of the internal cable holes and are not averse to drilling new holes in order to run all of the cables internally - go for it!

I carn’t find these on the Vision tech website - What is the base bar shape like?

We have a ton of these in stock and they have been selling like hotcakes. We find they are superior to Syntace: Less expensive, better looking, they appear to be more aerodynamic, etc.

The elbow pads are impressively comfortable. I am very, very impressed by these. Based on our initial impressions and then a short road test we bought a substantial quantity of these in all sizes.

I really believe in these. I think they are the best thing going.
