Vision vs. Oval Aerobar

All:

I am building a training bike and have the opportunity to buy a very gently used Oval A900 carbon base bar for $100 or order, through my shop’s employee purchase program, a Visiontech Alloy base bar with R-Bend carbon extensions for about $175. The Vision option also calls for brake levers and the adpator, so throw on another $35 for that or $210 total.

The Oval would need new extensions wind up costing a bit more as I’d probably want new extensions. so in the end the two options would be within $50 of each other.

Having never used either bar, I am looking for your input as far as handling, etc. Any thoughts as to which way I should go?

Thanks,

Bob

PS- I am currently using a Vuka on my racing bike and love that bar, though a second one is out of the question.

i use a vision basebar but hate their aerobars so far, use the T2+ now.

that being said i liked the look of some of the oval bars.

Can only say I have that Oval on my bike. Love them. Lots of adjustments and the carbon is solid.

I love my Vision. But, for the money difference, and the adjustability, I would very seriously consider the Oval.

I have vision everything and LOVE it !!!

What extenstions do you need. I think i have some stock aluminum ones around that i would let go for next to nothing.

In response to the actual question i love the oval concepts bars and want to get their new ones as soon as i have the money to.

Wll, my problem is that I want something that will be as close to my racing bike setup as possible. So while I may grab the Ovlas b/c it’s a good deal, I may do the Vision basebar with Vuke clips.
