Vision Tri-max Plus Bars on AEGIS T2

Anyone out there riding this set-up on their AEGIS T2 or other tribike? I just ordered my T2 over the past weekend and am trying to make that important aerobar decision.

I wanted to get some feedback from other users. I am interested in a carbon one piece stem/bar setup so I am considering these bars since they cost a bit less than HED or Easton bars.

If price is no object go for the one piece bar. I have a friend that bouight a t2 2mo ago with cowhorn and c2’s which are very comfortable and stiff . I have ridden the bike and this setup works great.

The biggest problem with the Vision, Profile-Design Carbon X or similar one piece bars is the lack of stem adjustment, and that is why I believe the HED Aerobar and Oval Concepts A900 Carbon aerobar are much better. Oval Concepts sell the aluminum A700 aerobar for around $275 and is essentially an aluminum version of the A900 Carbon. I own a Carbon X aerobar and will be buying an A700 Aerbar as soon as I can afford it. The lack of stem adjustability means I can not get my ideal forearm position on the forearm pads. One has to sacrifice forearm comfort with one piece bars. My advice buy an A700 Aerobar; I think it is the best of one piece (minus the stem) aerobar available. Adjustability is key, Vision aerobars are not.

You raise a good point re: not being committed to one stem length.

I didn’t realize Oval Concepts made an aluminum version of the Hed/Oval carbon aerobars. I’m checking those Oval A700 bars out and may order them. Thanks for the heads up.

Here is some interesting aero data regarding four of the one piece bars
