Should I be at all concerned by the angle of my new Tri-Max bars on my softride? They feel comfortable but is the upwards deflection a sign of a manufacturing defect? Will it cause a significant increase in drag? Hoping some of the experts on this site can put my mind at rest.

i had the same problem with my visions bars but mine were not the ones with spacers. i had to put a 1 inch spacer in here because the upward angle was very uncomfortable. its not a defect it is the angle of the head tube.
I also had the same problem, that is why I switched to Hed clip-lites and vision tech basebar…now everything is nice and level… speaking of…I have my vision tri-max bars for sale… size 250mm PM me if anyone is interested. (sorry about the shameless advertising)
