Vision Tech alloy base bar... (1)

I’m talking about the non-UCI version that used to come on most tri bikes, as seen here…

What brake levers (besides Vision) will work with these bars w/o modification?

Thanks.

The VT levers will cap right on the end. Some people don’t like them, but I never had any issues. I’ve plugged other types in by wrapping some duct tape around the expanding section.

So, the issue is that the ID of the Vision brake insertion is greater than typical? For some reason, I thought it was the other way around, and that “stardard” levers couldn’t fit inside.

My VTs are the old one-piece, but I plugged a Tektro lever in without any issue. My ID is 19mm. What is the bar you have?

I’ve used SRAM and Bontrager.

I haven’t purchased, yet. I want to make sure I’m going to have some options before doing so. Most reports are that the Vison levers rattle, which I’d like to avoid. If my current Bontrager levers will work, that’d be good. Although, I may go with something internal, anyway.

I have a used bar with brake levers if you are interested in pics. PM me and we can work out a price.

I used the profile design ones and they slipped right in no problem. Went with them because they’re a little beefier than the vision tech ones.

I’ve used the cheap diacomp 188’s and Tektro RX 5.0 in alloy VT base bar

If you can hear the levers rattling, you arent riding hard enough…

X2 And, they have a strong spring return.
