Hi, I bought myself a Tacx Neo. Tool is working fine !
I’m now looking for the best app to use for virtual training.
I know Zwift, trainerroad,…but I’m wondering if there’s an app available where you can upload your own GPX files (based on Google earth for example)?
A lot of apps are selling videos from popular races or mountains but that’s not what I’m looking for…
Bkool does that, so does VirtualTraining (by CycleOps) I believe. I’m vaguely tried bkool but don’t really see the value of virtual training. Erg mode (Trainerroad) is where it’s at IMO.
Agree that the ERG mode is most valuable in training, but I would like to find a way to train on a course without traveling there. For example an Ironman or other triatlon course. And not all Ironman course are sold or are not up to date.
It would be easy to download the gpx file and start training.
I think the Tacx 3D stuff had a google-earth mode where you could pick a start and end point and the camera would just shuffle along in a google-earth window and adjust trainer resistance. I haven’t in general heard good things about the Tacx 3D software though.
I wouldn’t be surprised if VeloReality does it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Golden Cheetah can do something simple like that, though I don’t know if they’ve got FE-C support yet.
You can use a Garmin 520 that will control the trainer and follow any course you wish. Create the course in Garmin first, upload to the device and off you go.
