Vineman Props

Friend of mine and I headed out to Sonoma along with our families for Vineman over the weekend from Dallas. This was our second ironman distance race after CDA in 2005.

Great race - great venue - great volunteers - and great organizers. While it doesn’t have the “production value” of a WTC event I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone. Challenging bike and a very warm run, even by Texas standards. I read many of the posts related to the 70.3 race and I did not have any issues with cars or people standing up during the swim.

Best of luck to the organizers in the future and congrats to all finishers. It was a very friendly race. I’m done with the 140.6 races for the next 20 or so years as the training is tough with a 2 year old and another on the way. That being said I find this distance a very rewarding experience.

Was that either you or your friend who passed me on the bike and said, “this is just about the prettiest bike course I’ve ever ridden”? They guy who said it sounded like he was from TX.

Glad you had a good time!
