Vibration from Kurt Kinetic with Pro Flywheel

I added the “Pro Flywheel” to my Kurt Kinetic Road Machine and now, when I get to a pretty fast pace, the trainer vibrates considerably. I tried tightening the bolt that the mechanism hinges around and it didn’t seem to make much difference. any suggestions (other than call Kurt Kinetic, which I can’t do today)?

When you get up to high speed, have you looked at the flywheel itself while rolling? If it’s wobbling at all you either A: Installed it off center, B: You have an off balance flywheel, C: Your axle is now bent and you need a replacement which is free from Kurt Kinetic if you’re the original owner.

Honestly I’d try reinstalling it a couple times just because. Then contact Kurt Kinetic if the problems not fixed.

Had the smae problem, turned out that my son had taken the fly wheel off at some stage and when he replaced it, he did refit the washer and that meant the fly wheel wasnt tight and so vibrated at high speed. Something to consider at least.

Email or call KK support and they will ship you a large O ring free of charge. Mostly resolved the vibration for me.

I’m having a similar issue on my Rock and Roll Kurt trainer. It is very smooth without the pro flywheel, but with the pro flywheel on, it vibrates. For me, however, the vibration gets less as my speed and power increase. I sent an e-mail to Kurt Kinetic tonight, but was just curious if anyone had these symptoms. There support has been AWESOME, so I’m sure I will hear something back tomorrow. I wonder is the o-ring will resolve this as well?

I had the same problem, and smeared a bit of grease around the rim of the standard flywheel before putting the pro flywheel on, just to provide a tiny bit of thickness to fill in the gap, figuring the problem must be an imperfect fit causing the pro flywheel to sit slightly off centre. Seemed to solve the problem, but to be honest I don’t use the pro flywheel any more, I didn’t find any benefit from using it.
