I transport my SRM equipped bike in the trunk of my car, and I’ve been concerned about the very high temperature that develops under the hot Texas sun. I measured a temp of 112 deg F in the trunk yesterday. Will this affect the sensitive SRM strain gauges?
Very high temperature in my trunk SRM circuitry damage?

It should not DAMAGE your SRM circuitry. However, it will very likely have significant effects on the ACCURACY of your unit SHORT TERM (and MAYBE long term). I.e., when you pull your bike out and start riding, your power numbers will likely be very different at the start than at the end. So your zero offset will likely be seriously screwed up. And I could see you needing to recalibrate more often. But assuming you recalibrate, I don’t think you are permanently damaging your electronics. I just would say you are definitely affecting the short term accuracy, and MAY be affecting how often you need to calibrate (i.e., the slope).
112 seems like it is well within the normal operating temps to be expected in many parts of the country. (I hope so, because my garage is routinely over 100 during the summer and many of my mid week rides in June-August are 100+ as well.) I can’t find anything in the SRM manual that states a max temp.
