Don’t we all.
I think you have it backwards…VC’s are not exactly running around surfing sports forums searching for the next big thing that will do 10x on their $$$$ more likely happy to have the $$$ sitting on the sidelines under a mattress :-).
No doubt happy about the mattress situation:
I am limiting my investors to VC but I figured I might get a few bites- More accurately what I need is an equity partner.
Got a mattress to toss into the ring?

What sort of project is it? How much capital are you looking for? Do you have a business plan? What sort of IRR are you seeing? Why wasn’t this posted in the LR?
This is such a winning proposal I think I’ll get some of my inheritance from Nigeria over to you as soon as it arrives, shouldn’t be long now. Do you take paypal?

That’s a coincidence. I am waiting on some lottery winnings I won by responding to the email I got form a guy in Nigeria. Who knew they had so much cash to hand-out?
As for the OP, here is some information I recently came across on VCs. They are probably not hanging out on ST as they are too busy making tons of cash (well, not so much right now, so they could be hanging out here ![]()
Venture capital (VC) is cash capital invested by high net worth individuals or companies. These VCs are interested investing in early-stage, high-potential, growth companies with opportunities for high rates of return to the VC entity. The VC ultimately expects the company to offer and IPO or sale of the company they invest in.
Along with the cash investment in a promising company, a VC can bring managerial and technical expertise to assist the existing management team. In exchange for taking risk in the company, a VC will expect to have significant control and ownership of the company.
A VC investment can assist a company with limited operating history and is too small or risky to raise capital from public financial institutions.
As another poster mentioned you definitely need a solid business plan. I am involved in this right now and while it is not easy, it is essential.
While I appreciate VC 101 lesson- All items are in place Business plan-budgets proforma etc etc. This is a marketing event and I am trying to reach a target audience at the intersection of private equity and triathlon.
thanks

Glad to hear it. Your post said you needed money, but gave no information about your business. As you know, a VC wants to know more than the fact you need money.
If you want to get VC funds through a triathlon website, you should ask Gordo Byrn…
what balanceguy said, pm me with some deets and i will give you some realistic feedback on capital pools you might tap and expectations. i work with vcs and pe guys in my daily life.
Thanks PM is away.
