Yeah. Taking a second look it looks like it is slammed forward on the rails. I initially thought it was mounted in the center of the rails.
I wonder if this is just because itâs a new bike, and the ladies were tweaking their fit via the saddle and just not adjusting the saddle clampâs position on the seat post? Iâve done this before, but then again Iâd also go back and readjust the saddle clamp when everything is dialed.
I think everyone thinks the pros are all expert mechanics and just sooo dialed, but in reality theyâre not.
Iâm not sure who the athletes were, but one of the hosts of the PTN Podcast last year commented about just how many proâs rolled up to T100 Miami with clapped out drivetrains.
You are bang on.
As a matter of fact, apparently there have been 2 saddle position changes since the pic fro the article. And there is apparently another on the way.
I am a little confused. Chelsea âI Am A Motherâ Sodaro really wanted to ride a Ventum all the while she was riding a BMCâŚa CanyonâŚand a Pinarello? And her husband - a firefighter if I recall correctly - is now some aero expert? I realize you need to treat these athletes with kid gloves to get access, but come on, this doesnât pass the smell test.
âRacing for Ventum is a dream come true,â said Chelsea
Translation - this is who agreed to sponsor me this year.
Every athlete with a sponsor plays this game, who cares?
He never said he was an aero expert. He was present when three bikes, for which she had sponsorship opportunity, were tested (twice). Steve doesnât pretend to be something he isnât.
Thatâs how the game is played. I remember PTN (probably Patrick) was suggesting back in 2022 or 2023 that Jason West is leaving money on the table by riding a Ventum. But now the podcast is sponsored by Ventum. Not everyone can be Magnus who wonât take on a sponsor until heâs happy with the aero testing.
I find it interestering and a bit refreshing that they actually donât claim the Ventum was fastest, only that it checked an aero box/âpassed a testâ. In my interpretation of this it might have been the slowest of the 4 bikes, but not by such a large margin that the money didnât compensate.
Since that race, the search has been on. âWe took multiple bike brands to the Velodrome for testing,â said Steve Sodaro. âAnd in the end, the new Ventum [Tempus] checked all our boxes.â
and
Sodaro is a mother??
Is the UCI post/saddle pushed forward so she can do that zip tie trick ?
Whatâs going on with the zip tie? I donât understandâŚ
Bring the split nose saddle pieces closer together
IMO, sheâs overly dramatic about everything. Iâve tried to be a fan, but i canât do it with the constant whining. I predict a DNF at Texas.
Iâm guessing itâs to help with some kind of genital discomfort. Seems like a smart enough solution in a world of products designed for the larger male market. The only tweak Iâd suggest is use a stainless zip tie or even a small hose clamp to ensure that doesnât loosen. Sometimes zip ties can loosen a notch or two and if this is cranked really tight that could happen?
Whatever the case, thatâs the kind of tweak/hack I think should be shown more as there are obviously a lot of female (and males too!) with fit issues in that area.
Iâm certain sheâs very grateful for that comment and will give her more fuel than an SFuels Plews Bar and Mortal Hydration combined on the course!
ps - donât ever count a Mom out. Didnât you know sheâs a mother?
Old ISM trick. Was widely used until they came out with the pn series.
Have we ever gotten an explanation on the design of the beefy seat stays and âfinâ on the seat tube? Just curious on what drove them to that design and if they found anything beneficial from it.
Maybe @BarrettB can chime in.
If only there was a saddle that you could adjust the width without having to do this amateur backyard diyâŚ
