VeloVetta Monarch aero cycling shoe review

Thanks for the great review Lewis. I purchased a pair and using your advice downsized from my normal size. Fortunately for me, I did not have to adjust the cable. I tried the shoes on a 3- hour ride and found they were very comfortable. As an elderly triathlete (now 80), it is important to be able to get in and out of the shoes easily because I am just not that flexible anymore. These shoes worked great and being able to lock in the tightness was excellent. Because, I cannot push high power (I average about 100 watts in Zone 2-3), I am always looking for components that can reduce power requirements. The percentage gains for me are much higher than for athletes pushing high watts. Most athletes that cannot push high power do not realize that they get higher returns from components that reduce power requirements. My next race is Sau Paulo 70.3 and that is where the shoes will really be tested.

80 years and still doing 70.3 races, man, I take my hat off for you. What a joy this must be to do what you love at 80 years of age. Make me feel young at 55
