Vancouver World Cup! Any ST ers going to watch?

I was going to go Bungee Jumping in Nanaimo tomorrow but with the weather (raining pretty good), I would rather not jump in the rain. Me and a buddy are going to head down to watch the race in the rain no matter what.

If any ST er’s are going to be watching the race as well, maybe we could meet up, grab a lot of coffee and fine a dry place to watch the race.

Cheers.

writerguy and I will be there… post here where you’ll be

I have no idea at this time where we will be. As long as there is a Starbucks close by, I will most likely be there. Since the women’s race starts at 12:00 and the guys start at 3:00, I will need lots of coffee and some treats, so Starbucks is a must.

It’s raining in Vancouver? Surely not, Brian! Let us know how the race went. As for meeting others I can’t thinking of a less helpful location in town than saying at A Starbucks except maybe a Blenz!

I was thinking of a Starbucks on the race course if possible. That way if it is raining, I can at least stay dry for a bit while having a coffee and treat. I know that in saying Starbucks and on the race course, it should narrow it down to around 20 but that is better than the 100 locations in the 20 square block radius that it could have been.

There must be a Starbucks close to the transition area. Probably 4 on the same corner but one will do.

There’s one at the corner of Denman and Davie, should be packed there though. Prime spot for watching though. I’ll be around, not sure what time though - thinking of going for the Women’s start.

Hey! Viet Nanaimo is my old hometown. I’ve never bungeed, but I’ve stood up on the bridge to watch the nuts jump. Good times.
On a related note, check out Les McDonald’s comments in the Weekend Sun. He mentions on Page 2 of the article that Ironman athletes may need drugs to compete due to the effects on the heart. Never a dull moment.

Aside from the drama, I hope the event itself works out. The venue is solid, and there are one or twenty Starbucks in the immediate area. Have a good time down there.

Say hi to Sara McLarty for me.

I’ll be there, volunteering for the bike. Hope it doesn’t rain!

So I will be going down to the race for sure and should be done there before the start of the womans race. Not sure where I will park but I will most likely make my way down to Davie and Denman as that seems to be the center of entertainment and Starbuck’s.

I will have on my Navy blue Ironman Canada finishers cap on so if you see an old guy (35) where this, please come up and say hello.

Cheers.
