Van life in Kona?

Anyone ever rented a van (equipped Dodge Caravan) and camped in the state beaches for their Kona stay ?

I’ve always wanted to use these guys.

Ugh, I live here, camp a lot, and wouldn’t ever think of doing that. Constant hot, always refilling the cooler with ice, food prep hassles, rowdy beach scene…but you could get a front row spot at the energy lab.

You would be living like a lot of locals. Homelessness is terrible in Hawai’i.

Someone do this and blow up on Youtube.

Not to mention cockroaches…I rented a van & when we started out turning the air conditioner on…cook-a-raches came out of every corner of the dashboard/vents, etc. Easy to find a way into a car, especially if you’ve had food in it at any point. Granted it was a Chevy Astro, but still…wigged us out (hate cockroaches).
