Vacation in Cabo. Any good Open water swims or runs?

I’m taking a vacation in Cabo starting the end of this week. Does anyone know of any really good runs or any open water swims that are a must while I’m there?

There is a 2.4 mile swim and a 26.2 mile run there on Sunday. Jump on in!!!

You’re kidding me!?!

You’re kidding me!?!

Nope… you’ll have plenty of friends to swim/run with. Although I suggest you bring a bike too…

FYI, race is still open for registration:

I could get through a 70.3 distance, but am no where near ready for a full IM. I need to gain some more “old guy strength” before I try one. I’m fairly well-trained for Olympics and XTERRAs right now.

Will there be a swim course that I can “poach” on Friday though?

I haven’t done this race before but I assume that since it’s a beach, they won’t be able to limit who enters the water for the pre-swim. It’s on Palmilla beach from 7:00-9:00 Friday & Saturday according to the athlete guide.

I stayed at the Villa del Arco from Mar 8-15 … down the beach east from the public beach and lawnmower-propelled hang glider airport … they have what seemed to be a 300-400m roped off area in front for OW lap swimming. Walk there and enjoy.

Be prepared for cool Pacific ocean temps!

Perfect. That’s about a mile and a half from where I’m staying. Run - swim - run bricks while I’m there.
