Armstrong, Azevedo, Beltran, Ekimov, Hincapie, Landis, Noval, Padrnos, Rubiera
Just announced at the end of the last Lance Chronicles on OLNTV tonight.
Pena is out.
Didn’t Pena go to another team already?
Noval, rubiera, beltran , Azevedo et al. will help more the last week with all the mountains. Pena was a more powerful guy and not a pure climber, he helped alot last year in the TTT, and remember beat Lance in the prologue and took the yellow jersey for a day. This year the last week of the Tour is way tough and hilly and I guess the powers that be though the Spanish climbers would help Lance more.
I haven’t heard that about Pena leaving, however, a recent interview in Outside magazine he says he wants to start a team in Columbia. By the way, that’s quite an article. It tells about what it’s like being a cyclist from Columbia, where the government only controls a small % of the country and the rest of it is essentially run by drug lords. He rides there with armed guards.
Old news, this was on cyclingnews.com and the USPS site June 23.
