Using wahoo key with iphone 5

Has anyone managed to get it to work? If so, which adapter did you use? I bought a generic adapter off of amazon, and the phone does not recognize the sensor attached via the adapter. The adapter def works as i can sync via it and an old 30-pin cable

I also have a 2nd gen ipod, but as wahoo insist on upgrading the firmware requirements, i think i’m out of luck on that front, too

Yes, have it working with my iphone 5s and the Apple brand Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m).

Same setup here, no issues for me. I don’t like the prices but I’ve given up buying generic/non certified lightning cables etc.

One more works great with 30-pin to lightning adapter.

got it. Thanks to all for the responses. Looks like i’ll need to pony up $30.

Funny enough i bought a 3rd party charging cable earlier, and said cable broke after 2 months of use…

Slightly off topic, but I bought a wholesale lot of Lightning cables off eBay for myself and a couple of guys from work. Intead of the 10 they were supposed to send, they sent 30! We split them up, and each one lasted about 2 months on average. I have one still going strong a year later, and one failed about 24 hours after I plugged it in for the first time. You get what you pay for.

the punchline being, the seller probably still made $$$, showing just how cheaply made they were.

I wouldn’t compare the lightning cable to the 30-pin to lightning adapter as it’s a lot more than just a physical pin to pin adapter. The 30-pin to lightning adapter has DAC (digital audio converters) for both audio in and output as well as some other things that do add to the cost of the unit.
