I can’t seem to log my training sessions using twitter. Is this working for other people?
yes, it works fine for me.
I tweeted this last night and so far nothing has shown up in my training log:
#run 00:28:10 3 miles Easy run on treadmill @twitchlog
Should this work? I have my training log configured to be linked to my Twitter account and I know it is working because when I log my training sessions using the web interface, I get a tweet.
I think distance comes before pace, so try the following:
#run 3 miles 00:28:10 Easy run on treadmill @twitchlog
.
How long does it normally take before your tweet shows up in your training log?
So I sent a tweet approx 1 hour again for logging a run I did and still no show in the training log. I have never been able to get this working. I have read all the documentation and tried several different options but it still will not log anything for me.
Any ideas? I would really like to get this working as I am going to Cozumel this weekend and would like to use this functionality with my cell phone.
your twitter handle is linked to your ST profile correct?
I am not an expert, but I have never had a problem that wasn’t easily attributed to user error.
Thanks for your input. Yes, my Twitter account is associated with my Slowtwitch account. Like I said earlier if I enter my workouts directly on the web site it gets tweeted to my Twitter account, so I know the connection is working.
Here is the syntax of what I have tried yesterday and today (please let me know if you think this is user error because I cannot see the error):
#run 11/15/2011 3miles 00:28:10 Easy treadmill run @twitchlog
#run 3 miles 00:28:10 11/15/2011 Easy treadmill run @twitchlog
#run 00:28:10 3miles Easy treadmill run @twitchlog
What are your privacy settings in Twitter? I wonder if you have your tweets protected which is causing Slowtwitch to not see your post.
I can see how your first two tweets below would not work since distance is before time but I do not see any issues with your third one. I put the following test through my twitter to confirm there were no syntax issues and it went through fine in a few minutes. Since I confirmed this tweet worked, you can run it through yours to validate your issue is not syntax related.
#run 11/11/2010 00:50:00 6miles Easy Run @twitchlog
If none of this helps, you may want to check the Developers forum.
Thank you songmak!!!
In my Twitter profile I had the “Protect my Tweets” option turned on for Twitter Privacy. This is the default setting as I don’t ever recall setting this. Anyways after turning this option off I can now successfully log my training sessions.
Also your comment about the first two tweets being incorrect syntax - is that true? I read the Twitter page on the Training Log site and it says that the order of the fields does not matter as long as the first item is the sport and there is a mention for @twitchlog. I will play around with that to confirm.
I have confirmed that tweets 1,2 & 3 all work.
I have also checked the Training Log web page and it states:
Also note that the order of the different parts (time, distance etc) is not important, except that the tweet needs to start with a valid sport tag and contain a reference to @twitchlog.
Glad the security updates corrected the issue. I guess I didn’t read the format stuff good enough but good to know both formatting options work.

Doesn’t seem to be working for me.
Logged a workout this morning, but Twitter seems to be linking to a different account on the training log.
In my Twitter settings, Slowtwitch is authorized to read/write, but, from the training log, I cannot select information to be tweeted. :\
