I got a PT (SL 2.4) late last year and have been training and using it regularly and love it.
I lift the back wheel and spin to acquire the signal before each ride (zero the torque every few rides and such)
But, my question is about racing with the powertap.
What do people do in T1 during a race dealing with wireless PTs?
I guess I’m more asking the people experienced with acquiring a wireless signal after swimming and coming into transition potentially with other PTs and other wireless devices (HR, SRM, …)
I start every ride by hitting on button when I hop on the bike, so a race is no different. Although I have a bad habit of not remembering to turn it on until a mile or so into the ride
just hitting the button at any point between grabbing the bike and mounting should be enough. Mine gets a signal really fast once the wheel spins and it wakes up. Never been an issue.

clear you computer before you start- hit both buttons quickly to get a ‘lap’ as you leave T1, hit both buttons to get a new lap as you enter T2. If you don’t get watts or hr signal- hit both buttons until find shows up - while you are initially riding. simple and easy and straightforward. if you don’t know about the laps- read the manual for more info and practice on training rides.
