Using a SwiMP3 with a Mac?

I just got a SwiMP3 for Christmas, and I’m having a bit of difficulty setting it up on my Mac. The Media Manager that’s included on the CD doesn’t work for Macs. I’d also like to convert my iTunes songs to MP3 format, and most of the programs that do this seem to be just for Windows. I’d love to hear from Mac users how they’ve set up their SwiMP3s.

Thanks

SwiMP3s. web site has FAQ
that might answer your Q

Q: Will the SwiMP3 work with all versions of MAC OSX?

A: The SwiMP3 will work with both versions 9 and 10 of the MAC OS. The SwiMP3 has recently been updated to be compatible with MAC OSX 10.3 (Panther Edition) and MAC OS 10.4 (Tiger Edition).

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, their FAQ doesn’t answer my questions. All it says is that the player works with MAC OS. Their support for Macs is pretty much non-existent. Very frustrating.

Ive never set one up, but iTunes should work with any MP3 player you plug in. Have you tried plugging in the SwiMP3 and opening iTunes?

If you are using Itunes, the songs you bought on Itunes are not really playable on the Swimp3.

Converting your unprotected ACC songs to MP3? Google it.

If you go to preferences in itunes, click on advanced, then importing. Choose mp3 as your importing protocol and then close preferences. Then you can ctrl click on any song and one of the options will be “convert to mp3.”

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I finally figured out this conversion on iTunes. The problem I’m having now is actually playing the songs. When I drag MP3s from iTunes to the SwiMP3, it seems to be working. However, when I try to play them, I don’t hear anything. As a result, I can’t tell if I moved the files correctly.

have you tryed the apple site support discussions thing ???

they are way smarter then me

I found you have to buy a conversion software that converts from Itunes format to MP3 format. Then download to the SwMp3. The software that comes with the player doesn’t work all that well I found.

www.tunebite.com The website isn’t that easy to navigate, but I just bought one of the conversion programs, and use it for audible.com to my SWIMP3 and it will work with iTunes to swimp3 too.
