Okay as the subject indicates, this post is sort of a Team Second-hand Racing request for assistance. There is a lady on our race team who started racing at the beginning of the year and except for crits, has won nearly every race she has entered. Unfortunatley she has a family and so her bike racing budget does not match her talents so several of us decided to contribute spare parts in an effort to help build her a time trial bike for a stage race in two weeks. Over the weekend, I contributed a surplus 9-speed Dura Ace cassette, a Spinergy wheelset, a set of Shimano downtube shifter boss adaptors (allows use STI, aero bar, or bar end shifters), and the Cinelli Angel aerobars that used to adorn my TT bike. Prior to my additions, her bike was complete but running with 7-speed downtube shifters but now we have a need for a set of Shimano 9-speed bar end shifters. Most of us are aware that with the introduction of 10-speed Dura Ace, the cost of 9-speed Dura Ace has increased making a new set of Shimano bar end shifters a little pricey. Before we take up a collection to spring for a new set, I was curious to know if any of the forum members here would happen to have a used set of 9-speed bar end shifters that they might would part with for a reasonable price ($<40)?
